New Sony Xperia Smartphone with Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform Might Launch at CES 2018

Sony Xperia Smartphone with Snapdragon 845
The upcoming CES 2018 will be held from 9th to 12th of January, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. While we will see some exciting innovations in the consumer technology, there will only be a few smartphone announcements. Sony has sent out the media invites for its CES press conference that is scheduled for January 8th, 2018. We can expect new products announcements under different categories like smart TVs, cameras, audio, and others.

The latest leaks suggest the company to showcase its latest flagship Xperia smartphone at the CES 2018. The device will be powered by the all-new Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes in 4GB and 6GB of RAM variants and packs 64GB/128GB of expandable storage. It will be running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. We expect this to be the rumored Sony H8266 smartphone.

The Sony H8266 is now listed on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 845 SoC and 4GB of RAM. It scored 2393 on single-core and 8300 on multi-core tests. Based on the rumors, this new Sony flagship smartphone will also feature 18:9 display. FYI, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium unveiled at the MWC 2018 is the first smartphone to feature the 10nm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It is also the first smartphone to come with a 4K HDR display.

While we expect the upcoming H8266 to be the successor to the Xperia XZ Premium, few leaks hint this to be Xperia XZ2. The Sony Xperia XZ1 was launched at the IFA 2017 conference held in Berlin. Apart from Sony, Samsung is also rumored to showcase the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus smartphones at the CES 2018. However, the latest leaks hint the South Korean company to come with the Galaxy X foldable/bendable smartphone.

Since there is no official confirmation, take these details with a pinch of salt. The official announcement will be made during the media day before the CES 2018 kicks off. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!

It’s Confirmed, Apple Deliberately Slows Down Your iPhone When It Gets Old

iphone 6 vs 6s
Everyone knows that many Android smartphones get slower and laggy after using them for more than a year. Recently, there are few posts on Reddit mentioning the iPhones get the performance downgrade when their batteries get degraded. Now, the benchmark data from Geekbench unofficially confirm that the older iPhones get slower when updated to the latest iOS. Geekbench published a detail report where it tested the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 with different iOS versions.

When compared to the iPhones 6s running on iOS 10.2, the iPhones 6s with iOS 10.2.1 falls below the average point and also the score clusters at multiple points. With the iOS 11.2.0 powered iPhone 6s, we can see even more variations in the average score. When the same tests are conducted on last year’s iPhone 7, the variations in the average score was observed from the iOS 11.2.0. There isn’t much change in the Geekbench score between the iPhone 7 running on iOS 10.2.0 and iOS 10.2.1.

However, Apple has never revealed that the performance on iPhones will be downgraded when the battery condition decreases past a certain point. Earlier this year, Apple acknowledged a weird issue on iPhone 6 and iPhones 6s, where the device gets suddenly shutdown even with some remaining battery percentage. The company fixed the sudden shutdown issue by deliberately limiting the performance of the older iPhones.
iphone 6 vs 6s

The decrease in performance can be seen in the iPhones, even when the Low Power mode is not enabled. Based on the Geekbench report, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 devices might also see the performance issues when their batteries get older. Instead of buying a new iPhone for the better performance, you can actually get that by just replacing the older battery on your current iPhone. There are also reports that the companies make the older devices slower so that the users can upgrade their devices more frequently.

Apple Sued by Chinese Company for Copying App Store Icon Design, Asked to Apologize

Apple Sued by Chinese Company for Copying App Store Icon Design
Apple and Qualcomm are accusing each other over several patent infringements. In the past, Apple was also involved several patent infringement cases. Then there is also whooping EUR 13 billion fine slashed on Apple by EU over breaking the EU laws. Coming to China, the company is now involved in a new lawsuit with the local clothing brand called KON. KON has the copyright of its logo which looks similar to the App Store logo in the current iOS and MacOS.

Back in August this year, Apple replaced the App Store logo consisting of pencil, ruler, and paintbrush with the new logo featuring three plain sticks (kind of) on iOS and MacOS. According to KON, the new logo of the App Store on iOS and MacOS is a clear violation of the Chinese copyright law. The Chinese company is now demanding Apple to publically apologize in the national media and pay the compensation for economic loss occurred.

It even wants Apple to stop selling the devices containing the logo of the KON brand. Currently, the Beijing People’s Court has accepted this case, and the judgment can be expected in the next couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see what happens if the judgement comes in favor of KON. Last year, Apple lost the case against the maker of leather products for the iPhone trademark in China.

However, the company later settled directly with the company. Every year, we witness at least a few lawsuits against Apple. There is also case filed against Apple by an Indian company called Vyooh. The Indian software maker is fighting with Apple over the use of the word “SplitView” on iPad. The SplitView is the feature on iPad, where two apps can be opened like the split-screen multitasking on Android.

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One phone in India in September at a price of Rs 14,999. The Mi A1 is notably the most premium phone, both in terms of looks and build as well as in terms of hardware specs, to launch under Google's Android One initiative. The only visible difference is seen in the fingerprint scanner placement. As opposed to the iPhone 7 Plus that comes with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, the Xiaomi Mi 5X sports one on the back. The Mi A1 further comes with physical capacitive keys on the front which are backlit. Buy : Flipkart

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+: Release date, specs, and everything else you need to know

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+
It’s widely assumed that Samsung’s next-generation smartphone is closer to the launch, and that new version will be called the Galaxy S9. The South Korean major plans to release two versions of the Galaxy S9, and they should be seen as successors to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were a huge success for Samsung, the company’s new flagships since the debacle of the Galaxy Note 7.

It’s all certain that the Galaxy S9 will be improved over its predecessor, featuring a better display, improved camera, and an updated processor. However, it won’t be that easy for Samsung to make its next high-end smartphone a huge success. The Galaxy S9 will be facing tough competition from Apple’s iPhone X, which features a bezel-less design, updated cameras, top-notch specifications, and facial-recognition skills. Which is why we’re so much interested in the Samsung Galaxy S9 release and all the rumours surrounding the follow up to the Galaxy S8.

Here’s all you need to know about the Galaxy S9 and S9+, including their release date, price, specifications, features, and more.

When will the Galaxy S9 be released?

Samsung typically releases its flagship smartphones under the Galaxy S series during the annual Mobile World Congress annual trade show in Barcelona, which kicks off in February. Though the company decided to unveil the Galaxy S8 in a separate event in the New York City earlier this year. It’s unclear when Samsung plans to announce its Galaxy S9, but a report from Bloomberg claims the device could be officially revealed as early as late February. Bloomberg also said Samsung is planning to sell the Galaxy S9 (including the Galaxy S9+) in the beginning of March next year.

We had earlier heard that the Galaxy S9 release in January next year, possibly at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Now it looks like the launch won’t happen in January and instead fans have to wait till February end to know more about the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

How much will be Galaxy S9 cost?

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were launched at a premium price, and the trend will likely to continue with their successors. Just to recall, the Galaxy S8 was launched at a price of Rs 57,990 in India, whereas the Galaxy S8+ at Rs 64,990. We can expect the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to be expensive than their predecessors when they go on sale in India.

What will the Galaxy S9 look like?

Pretty much everyone  is saying that the Galaxy S9 won’t look too different from the Galaxy S8 in terms of design, barring a few minor tweaks. A report by The Bell claims that the new smartphones will see the same 18:9 panels as we have on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. However, the report said the displays on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be improved, in addition of an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

Separately, SamMobile reported that the Galaxy S9 will sport thin bezels than its Galaxy S8. A tipster has told the site that the Galaxy S8 could have a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, up from 84 per cent on the Galaxy S8. Evidently, the bottom bezel on the Galaxy S9 will be non-existent, giving Samsung even a large panel to fit into the device. Unfortunately, it’s being said that the Galaxy S9 won’t feature an in-display fingerprint scanner but it may be introduced with the Galaxy Note9, due for release in late 2018.

What new functions the Galaxy S9 will have?

In an aim to better compete with the iPhone X’s Face ID, Samsung is planning to add an improved iris scanner inside the Galaxy S9. According to a source speaking to The Korean Herald, the Galaxy S9 will feature a 3MP camera for the iris scanner, up from the 2MP on the Galaxy S8. This will apparently be better to recognise users’ eyes, even when there’s little light or too much light. The report also said the iris scanner on the Galaxy S9 will be much faster than what you currently get on the Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature the Snapdragon 845 mobile processor. It is said that the Korean company has dibs on the entire first production batch of the Snapdragon 845 for the Galaxy S9. The latest mobile processor brings up to 30 per cent faster performance and is 15 per cent more power efficient. The GPU is also faster; the chipset promises a longer battery life. We can expect 6GB RAM inside the Galaxy S9 and S9+. And outside of the US,  the Galaxy S9 will be powered by the company’s own Exynos 9810 chipset, which is built on the 10nm process.

The Galaxy Note 8 featured a dual-camera system. So it’s safe to assume that Samsung Galaxy S9 will likely to get dual-cameras, though we’re still not sure about the same. However, we do know that Samsung plans to add a  1000fps camera sensor that will allow the Galaxy S9 to record super-slow movie recording, like the Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ should come with 64GB of internal memory for the base model. We won’t be surprised to see the Galaxy S9 series getting 512GB of in-built storage. Samsung has recently announced that it’s started mass-producing a 512GB embedded Universal Flash Storage solution – and the Galaxy S9 could be the first smartphone ship with it on board.

And the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will no doubt launch with Android Oreo out-of-the-box. We’re expecting Bixby to feature on both smartphones like the Galaxy S8 and S8+, possibly with major improvements.

Xiaomi Might Launch Snapdragon 835 Powered Laptop with Windows 10 in 2018

Xiaomi Might Launch Snapdragon 835 Powered Laptop with Windows 10 in 2018
Earlier this month, Qualcomm made few new announcements at the Snapdragon Technology Summit held in Hawaii. The company announced the all-new Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. However, the major announcement is the launch of world’s first Gigabit LTE laptop powered bySnapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform. The Snapdragon 835 which can be found inside a majority of the flagship smartphones in 2017 will now power the Windows 10 laptops.

While Xiaomi officially confirmed to launch its next flagship smartphone with Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, the latest report suggests the company might also launch the laptops with Snapdragon Mobile PC Platform. Xiaomi unveiled its first ever laptop called Mi Notebook Air in 2016 in China. Later, it came with the upgraded Mi Notebook Air with a 4G SIM card slot. In 2018, we will be seeing the Mi Notebook with Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform and Windows 10.

The current-gen Xiaomi laptops are powered by Intel processors. While the availability of the Mi Notebook is only limited to China, there are few resellers who ship them for free to the international destinations. With the day-long battery life and Gigabit LTE connection, the Xiaomi laptops might gain some popularity among the thousands of other laptops. With the affordable data plans in India, we expect Xiaomi to bring their upcoming laptops to the Indian market.

At the Snapdragon Technology Summit, Asus launched the NovaGo laptop with Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform and 8GB of RAM. According to the company, the Asus NovaGo will be lasting up to 22 hours on a single charge and over 30 days on modern standby. Even HP also showcased the Snapdragon 835 powered HP Envy x2 2-in-1 laptop that measures just 6.9mm in thickness. We expect to see more laptops with Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform at the CES 2018.

एप्पल लगभग $ 400 मिलियन के लिए संगीत ऐप शाजाम खरीदता है

apple office

Comcast’s xFi Advanced Gateway modem is now available nationwide

Comcast’s xFi Advanced Gateway modem is now available nationwide

It's no secret that modems provided by your ISP can leave a lot to be desired. While we generally recommend you use your own hardware when it comes to your internet connection, plenty of people just go with the standard default modem and router. Comcast is making that process just a little bit easier thanks to the xFi Advanced Gateway modem and router. The modem, which the company is billing as the most advanced device it's ever made, made its debut back in May, but starting today it's available in every market that Comcast offers gigabit internet.

The company's goal with this new modem/router is to make setting up, connecting to and using the internet as simple as possible. Comcast's SVP of Hardware Development, Fraser Stirling, told Engadget: "I want your parents to stop phoning you about their internet connection." That was one of the primary goals when designing the interface of xFi app, which we've previously covered in detail. It allows you to set up your WiFi, change and customize settings, set up profiles for use and more. If you want to turn off the WiFi to your kids' devices at 9PM, you can easily do that in the xFi app.

The real advantage of the Gateway modem, though is in its speeds. When developing the tech of this device, the team recognized that WiFi is the primary way that people use the internet, even for bandwidth-heavy activities such as streaming video. The goal, then, was to increase the WiFi speeds of the xFi Advanced Gateway, rather than expecting customers to use a wired Ethernet connection.

The modem uses a 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi standard, which allows for the possibility of gigabit WiFi. Now, that's not likely to happen in practice in a standard house because of obstructions like walls and floors, but the team was able to get 1.2 to 1.3 GB per second speeds over WiFi in tests. The standards also supports MU-MIMO (multiple input, multiple output), which means you can connect a larger number of devices more efficiently to a single network.

It's important to note, though, that these features aren't specific to Comcast's xFi Advanced Gateway. This is a standard that is being applied across modems, routers and devices, but as with any new standard, it's slow going. There still aren't a whole lot of devices that have this advanced tech, and they'll cost you. And all of this, of course, is dependent on your internet speed from your provider; if you aren't paying for gigabit internet, you won't see a lot of these speed benefits.

Another goal with the xFi Advanced Gateway was to make the Internet of Things, or IoT, as easy as possible. The current setup of device to hub to app to router to modem isn't easy for people who aren't tech savvy -- again, the team wanted to ensure that customers at multiple levels of tech literacy can take advantage of this modem's advanced features. The Gateway has multiple radios onboard -- including Bluetooth, LE, Zigbee and Thread -- to make sure it can seamlessly connect to IoT devices. The idea was to ensure that current and future IoT devices are easily compatible with this modem for the long term.

This Gateway is intended to work across a large area, thanks to the 8x8 antenna array, which includes eight antennas to transmit WiFi signals and another eight to receive them. However, if that isn't quite enough for your home, Comcast is introducing a mesh WiFi system early next year. It's currently in an advanced trial stage.

The bottom line is that you're almost always going to get better customization options and more control when you buy your own hardware, rather than using what your ISP provides. But for the millions of customers who do (according to Stirling, around 10 million people use Comcast's modems), this is a good option for those who want gigabit speeds but don't want to maintain their own equipment (like your parents).

Honor 7X launched in India: Specs, dual cameras, bezel-less design and more

Huawei's sub-brand Honor has finally launched the much anticipated Honor 7X in India at a starting price of Rs 12,999. The Honor 6X's successor comes with an all-metal design, a dual camera setup at the rear and fairly powerful specifications for the price. Most importantly, the Honor 7X embraces the bezel-less mania that has permeated smartphones as of late with its expansive 18:9 display. Honor 7x buy online : http://amzn.to/2AcnqgE

Honor 7X launched in India: Specs, dual cameras, bezel-less design and more
Honor 7X
The Honor 7X is set to go on sale from 7 December onward exclusively via Amazon India. Huawei is banking on the Honor 7X's dual cameras and bezel-less design to set it apart from fierce competitors like the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5S Plus.

Honor 7X in detail:
-Farewell bezels
Just like the Honor 9i, the Honor 8 Pro features a bezel-less design with a matte back and a chassis made out of metal. The smartphone not only looks classy and premium but is also built quite well.

There are no physical buttons on the front fascia - the 7X makes do with virtual keys for back, multi-tasking and home. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back which can be used for a variety of functions such as sliding down the notification panel.

-Edge-to-edge display
The biggest USP of the Honor 7X is the expansive 5.9-inch display up front which has a resolution of 2160x1080 (FullHD+) and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Huawei claims that the minimal bezels up front allow them to fit a 5.9-inch display into what is basically a 5.5-inch form factor.

The display is bright and punchy and is covered by 2.5D glass which not only looks premium but enhances in-hand feel. The 18:9 aspect ratio lends itself well to gaming and multimedia consumption. While the top and bottom bezels on the 7X are not as small as those seen on smartphones like the LG G6 or the Galaxy S8, it is excusable given the 7X's affordable price.

-Specifications, software
The Honor 7X has fairly powerful specifications for the price. The smartphone is powered by Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and a 3,340mAh battery which the company claims is good for 12 hours of video playback and 91 hours of music playback. There is 32GB or 64GB of storage on board depending on the variant which can be expanded via a microSD card (of up to 256GB).

In terms of software, the Honor 7X runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with Huawei's custom EMUI 5.1 skin on top. It is not known at the moment when the smartphone will be updated to EMUI 8 which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Huawei claims that EMUI 5.1 intelligently optimises user experience by learning and predicting user behaviour. It also has various features built-in such as the ability to run two iterations of the same app, knuckle based gestures, scrolling screenshot and so on. Honor 7x buy online : http://amzn.to/2AcnqgE
http://fkrt.it/XVp4D!NNNN

-Connectivity
The Honor 7X supports 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/A-GPS and GLONASS. The presence of a microUSB port for charging and data transfer instead of USB-C is a shame. Audiophiles will rejoice at the fact that the 7X comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack which is fast becoming a rarity in today's smartphones.

The Honor 7X comes with a hybrid SIM slot - which is a little disappointing. This basically means that you cannot expand the internal storage whilst using two SIM cards.

-Dual cameras
Just like the Honor 6X, the Honor 7X comes with a dual camera setup at the rear that allows for the capture of bokek shots (images with depth of field effects). There is a primary 16MP sensor which is paired with a 2MP secondary sensor, the sole purpose of which is to capture depth data.

On the front, the Honor 7X comes with an 8MP sensor for selfies. Despite having just a single sensor up front, the 7X allows for front facing bokeh shots which are produced via software algorithms.

The camera app is loaded with features such as filters, time-lapse, light painting, slow motion video capture and panorama. There is also a fully featured Pro mode that allows enthusiasts to play with the ISO, exposure, shutter speed and so on.

-Price and availability
The Honor 7X has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 12,999. The smartphone will go on sale from December 7, 12 noon onward exclusively via e-commerce giant Amazon India. It is available in the following colour options -- Blue, Gold, and Black.

There are two variants of the Honor 7X on offer - one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for Rs 12,999 and one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for Rs 15,999.

Battery problems? This popular phone charges faster than Apple iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8

From Samsung to Apple and Google to LG, biggest phone makers have their own fast charging technology. However, OnePlus seems to make the best chargers.
Apple iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The battery is one of the most important components in a smartphone, from the consumer’s point of view. While most mobile manufacturers have taken to quick charging technologies, usually only the premium devices get them. From Samsung to Apple and Google to LG, biggest phone makers have their own versions of a fast charging technology. However, according to latest reports, Chinese company OnePlus makes the best chargers. OnePlus’ Dash Charging has outpaced charging systems found in most big phones from Samsung, Google, Apple, and others. The company had announced its native technology for charging during the launch of the OnePlus 3 in 2016. It was an advancement over Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. This means OnePlus 5T is the winner among Apple iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and more.

However, OnePlus’ new technology is claimed to get 60 percent or more charge in the first 30 minutes of battery charging. Tom Guide, a product review website, has tested around 10 popular smartphones to discover the best charging capabilities. The list of mobiles included big names like Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, and Google Pixel 2. However, OnePlus scored above all of them in the test. In the test, OnePlus achieved 59 percent charge in half an hour and in 1 hour it went upto 93 percent. Meanwhile, LG V30 came in the second spot, having reached 53 percent charge in 30 minutes. Additionally, iPhone X (using an optional 29W adapter and USB-C Lightning cable) got 50 percent charge in half an hour. When it comes to Pixel 2 and Galaxy Note 8, they reached 38 percent and 35 percent in 30 minutes respectively.

According to the study, the Apple iPhone X reached 81 percent charge in 1 hour and the Google Pixel 2 managed 75 percent in the same amount of time. This essentially means that Apple’s technology is faster than that of Google. However, in order to use fast charging in the Apple phone, users need to have a power adapter which supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and comes along with USB-C.

However, OnePlus has no qualms about providing the Dash Charge out-of-the-box with its flagship models. This technology is said to charge a 2500mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in 15 minutes flat. While OnePlus 5T may be the winner in the latest test but Dash Charge works on the previous models like OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T as well.

Google Maps Gets Motorcycle Mode in India, Showing Navigation Routes for Two Wheelers

Google Maps Gets Motorcycle Mode in India

The Indian market has been a major area of focus for Google and it seems that the latest feature in Google Maps is an indicator of the same. Some users in India are reporting seeing a new Motorcycle mode or Two-Wheeler mode in the latest version of Google Maps (v9.67.1) for Android. The new mode is seen placed alongside the earlier alternatives – Car, Foot, and Train. We're seeing the new mode too, on the latest version of the Android app.

First reported by Android Police, the publication got a hold of screenshots from one such user in India and the photos show that the new Motorcycle mode has been incorporated to help bikers in the country find the route most suitable for their vehicles. Launching such a product in India makes sense as a substantial chunk of the country’s workforce travels on motorbikes and there are quite a few routes that are not wide enough for a bigger vehicle to fit in. We've reached out to Google for comment on the launch, and will update this article when we hear back.

The report also claims that there have been sightings of the mode only by Indian users, making it the first market for the feature. We had recently Google CEO Sundar Pichai's comments about India playing an important role in improving Google Maps and other Google products.

The mode is fairly intuitive – according to the screenshots – and informs bikers about all possible road closures along the way. It also gives information about the parking situation at their destination, a handy feature that was previously seen in the car mode.

Android Police notes that Motorcycle Mode has popped up in the source code for some of the previous versions but this is the first time that we are seeing it go live with the latest version.
