Xiaomi Redmi 5A with 5″ HD Display & 13MP Camera Goes Official for Rs. 4,999

After teasing from the last few days, Xiaomi today launched the Redmi 5A smartphone in the Indian market. It is also the most affordable Xiaomi smartphone ever launched in India. The device comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants and is priced at Rs. 4,999 and Rs. 6,999 respectively. The Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 are the most popular smartphones in the budget segment. However, there is no smartphone from major Chinese manufacturers in the sub Rs. 5,000 price segment.

With the Redmi 5A launch, we can expect the company to further increase its market share in India. In the 3Q of 2017, Xiaomi became the largest smartphone brand in India. Talking about the device, the Redmi 5A comes with a polycarbonate body with metal finish. While the Redmi 5A was already launched in China, the newly launched Indian variant comes with a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Rest of the specifications remain same on both the Indian and Chinese variants.




It comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display. Under the hood, it comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. As said earlier, the device comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. With the dedicated MicroSD card slot, the user can expand the storage additionally up to 128GB.

In the camera department, the Redmi 5A packs a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that is mentioned to give 8 days of standby time. The device runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat based MIUI 9 out of the box. On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.

There is also an Infrared sensor for controlling the electronics like TV and AC. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.35 mm and weighs 137 grams. The device comes in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold, and Rose Gold color options. The Rs. 4999 price tag for the 2GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A is limited to the first five million units, and later the price will be increased to Rs. 5,999. It will be sold through Flipkart, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Mi Preferred Partner stores starting December 7th.

Xiaomi will be launching a new entry-level smartphone tomorrow in India. We expect it to be the Redmi 5A which was already launched in China. Today, the company also announced to launch the all-new Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones on December 7th in China. There are also leaks about the Redmi Note 5, but the company hasn’t mentioned about its launch. Xiaomi also confirmed the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones to come with an 18:9 display and a larger battery.

The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus might come with similar design. As of now, there is not much information about the Redmi 5 Plus smartphone. Talking about the Redmi 5, the smartphone sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it will come powered by Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. The device will be available in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options.

With the full-screen display, the device might come with on-screen navigation buttons. As seen on the earlier launched Redmi devices, the Redmi 5 will also feature rear-facing fingerprint sensor. In the camera department, we might see a 12MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. Both these cameras will come accompanied by a LED flash. It will be backed by a 3,300mAh battery and still comes with MicroUSB 2.0 port.

Compared to the Redmi 4, the Redmi 5 will be offering new 18:9 display with slightly improved specifications. However, the Redmi 4 came with a bigger 4,100mAh battery. Both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus might run on the latest MIUI 9 out of the box. Compared to their predecessors, we also expect these upcoming devices to cost slightly on a higher side. Oppo F5 was launched in India earlier this month. Samsung Galaxy S9 benchmarks spotted on GeekBench, to feature heat pipes

 The Samsung Galaxy S9 is the next flagship that can be unveiled at the beginning of 2018, and smartphone scores are now deployed on the GeekBench. Earlier it was reported that the firmware developed for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus has begun. According to Sammobile, the model number of the Galaxy S9 will be SM-G960, while the S9 Plus will have the SM-G965 model. Reports have also indicated the company's 4-inch Samsung Galaxy S9 model.

 According to the GeekBench score, the Samsung Galaxy S9 2680 will be 4GB RAM in the single core and 7787 multi-core core and it will run Android Oreo 8.0 and the model number is listed as SM-G960F GeekBench scores Samsung Galaxy S9 The company is running its Exynos 9810 octa core processor for the version.

 Samsung has recently posted about Exynos 9810 processors,though there is not much information about the processor about it. The international version of Samsung, including the India edition, is usually powered by the Exynos chipset and the new processor will have a similar 10nm design as the Exynos 8895.

 In the US, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, if any will go according to previous trends. According to some reports, Samsung will be the first dibs in the Galaxy 845 processor series, such as with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset last year, the Galaxy S8 series was the first to launch this processor with new chipsets and other flagship which was delayed was.

 In another report, the Android Headlines, quotation from Digitimes, will come with the new heat pipes as the Samsung Galaxy flagship for 2018, and this report is based on supply chain sources. The report claims that production for these heat pipes has already started.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 series is likely to continue with the same Infinity Display design, which is curved on both sides with minimum bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio on the sides. Samsung will not have a fingerprint scanner in front of it and according to the report, the possibility of a scanner under performance is very little. Earlier analysts have suggested that it will take time to develop such technology.

Meizu Might Soon Launch the Pro 7 Flagship Smartphone with Dual AMOLED Displays in India

Meizu is the latest Chinese smartphone brand to launch its flagship smartphone in 2017, since leaks and rumors were suggested, the company unveiled the Meizu Pro 7 and Meizu Pro 7 Plus smartphone in China. As you've already heard, this device comes with innovative dual display. Although LG and HTC have implemented secondary performance above the primary performance, however, Meizu added it backwards. Device sports premium looking design and top notch specifications. Some leaks had suggested Pro 7 devices to use Samsung's Exynos 8895 SOC, but the device actually has the facility of MediaTek Helo Processor.

 Meizu Pro 7 & Pro 7 Plus with Dual Displays Launched in China

 We are looking at the Super AMOLED displays on the front and back of the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus smartphones. Apart from showing the time, weather, and notifications, the secondary display can be used as a viewfinder for capturing selfies using the dual rear cameras. The 1.9-inch rear facing Super AMOLED display comes with 240 x 536 pixels resolution and offers a pixel density of 307 PPI. Both the devices run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based Flyme OS 6. On the front is a physical home button that also houses the fingerprint sensor for authenticating the payments via WeChat and AliPay.
Talking about the dual camera setup, the Pro 7 sports a 12MP RGB sensor and a 12MP Monochrome sensor along with f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens, and PDAF. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens. It uses the ArcSoft beauty algorithm adaptive skin technology to make the selfies look better. The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus also sports Cirrus Logic CS43130 audio chip that offers Hi-Fi audio output with minimum power consumption. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio port, and USB Type-C.



Meizu Pro 7

 The Meizu Pro comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It comes with 4GB LPDDR 4X RAM and will be available in two variants with 64GB (eMMC5.1) and 128GB (UFS2.1) storage options. The 64GB storage variant is powered by Helio P25 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and comes coupled with Mali-T880 GPU. On the other hand, the 128GB storage variant houses the 2.6GHz Helio X30 deca-core processor built on the 10nm manufacturing process.  It is backed by 3,000mAh non-removable battery and supports mCharge 3.0 fast charging. It measures 147.62 x 70.72 x 7.3 mm and weighs 163 grams.

 Meizu Pro 7 Plus

 Compared to the Meizu Pro 7, the Plus variant sports a bigger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and also offers Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the Pro 7 Plus houses the 2.6GHz Helio x30 deca-core processor coupled with Mali-T880 GPU. There is 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and comes in 64GB and 128GB UFS2.1 storage options. With a bigger form factor, it also includes a bigger 3,500mAh battery that should easily give a day-long battery life. It also supports the latest 25W (5V/5A) mCharge 4.0 fast charging technology that charge from 0% to 67% in just 30 minutes. The Meizu Pro 7 Plus measures 157.34 x 77.24 x 7.3 mm and weighs 170 grams.
The company also unveiled the Meizu Flow headset that costs 599 Yuan, but the company is offering 100 Yuan discount when purchased along with the Meizu Pro 7 or Pro 7 Plus smartphone. The Meizu Pro 7 Plus comes in Silver, Black, and Gold color options. It costs 3580 yuan for the 64GB storage variant and 4080 yuan for the 128GB storage variant. The Meizu Pro 7 additionally comes in Red color and coming to the pricing; the Helio P25 powered variant costs 2880 Yuan while the Helio X30 powered variant costs 3380 yuan.
