Earlier this week, Gionee launched Gionee M7 and Big Gold Steel 2 smartphones in China with a 18:9 display. Now the company has announced Big Gold Steel 2 as the Gionee M7 Power for Global Markets. Gionee M7 Power is the successor of last year's M6 Power. Compared to the 6,020mAh battery on M6 power, the new M7 power has a slightly smaller 5,000mAh battery. The smartphone sports with a metal body but comes with a shiny finish. While the gold color version comes with laser cut finish, black and dark blue diamond cut will be facilitated.
The 6-inch HD + (1440 × 720 pixels) full-screen display on the front is at 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. Like any other smartphone with 18:9 display, the Gionee M7 Power also offers 85% screen-to-body ratio. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor under the hood is 1.4GHz and the Adreno 505 comes with GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory. There is also MicroSD card slot to increase storage up to 256GB. It also supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid sim slot.
The M7 power on-screen navigation button and fingerprint sensor are now mounted on the rear. While the fingerprint sensor can be used in the camera app while the shutter button can be used, it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat outside the box with highly customized Amigo 5.0 OS on the top. In terms of optics, Gionee shoots the 13MP shooter with M7 power F/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. For Selfie, there is an 8MP camera at the front, 5,000 MAH non-removable batteries should be easily spent more than one day for heavy usage on this device.
On connectivity front, M7 Power includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The size of the smartphone is 156.3 × 75.6 × 8.6 mm and weigh 187 grams. This will go on sale in Thailand and the price of THB 9,990 (approximately USD 300 / INR 19,500). On the other hand, the high end Gionee M7 is powered by 6.01 inch full HD + (2160 × 1080 pixels) Fullview Amoled display and Halio P30 processor. It includes 6GB RAM and internal storage of 64GB. There is a 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. Until now, there is no information about the availability of these smartphones in the Indian market.
